The Rodent Control Process

First, you will get a free assessment of your rodent problem. There is no charge for our technicians to visit your home or office in the Houston area to evaluate the severity of the problem and the likelihood of repeated events.

Next, you will get a proposal that identifies the problem at hand and defines the methods of treatment available (this is the stage that separates a rodent control company from one that merely practices extermination).

Finally, our experts will carry out the rodent removal and/or rodent control plan that best fits your needs, budget, and preferences.

About Rats & Mice

Rats and mice are the most common home invaders in Houston. They fall under the order of Rodentia, a name with the Latin root of rodens, “gnawing one.” They are characterized by two long incisors on the upper and lower jaws that are continuously growing. They use these teeth for self-defense and to chew through materials other creatures would never consider. In order for the creature to maintain a usable proportion, the teeth must be filed down by regular chewing and gnawing of rough materials. Rats and mice will chew through wood or plastic to gain entry into a building. For mice the hole can be as small as a nickel, and rats can squeeze through a hole the size of a quarter. Once inside, they will quietly nibble any and everything that alleviates their need to file their teeth.

If entry has been gained into your home by rats or mice, you could be endangered by the animal, the diseases it may carry, the diseases their fleas can carry, and the diseases one can acquire from exposure to their urine or feces.

What to Look For

If the rodents are very subtle or quiet, a pet may be queuing in on the threat. Cats and dogs may stare at a blank location in a wall or under a dishwasher, because they hear the creatures. If you hear activity behind walls, behind cabinets, or the attic, you have a rodent infestation. If you suddenly have dangerous electrical shorts and exposed wiring, rats and mice are usually present.

If you see small unexplained fecal droppings, there is definitely a problem. Another sign is a nest made of chewed items. Act quickly if any of these are true for your situation, rats and mice multiply at a rate that has kept their species extremely successful throughout history and they can be difficult to control without help.
